“Who Cares” Is Now A Code Word For “I Hate Gay People”
Supposedly, this has something to do with homophobic Facebook users keeping gay athletes in the closet. “Who cares” and “I don’t care” is now a code for the hateful homophobes to let us know how they feel, without getting kicked off social media.
We at Outsports have noticed a flood of “who cares” and “no one cares” responses to our stories, particularly on Facebook. And when I say “flood” I mean literally hundreds of these same exact messages from hundreds of Facebook users in just the last couple months. It’s been going on for at least most of the. year.
Here’s more. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ll be looking.
