Australian Footballer Is Terrified to Play in One of Those Horrible Hateful Homophobic Countries Like Qatar

I see no point in being kind or careful when it comes to things like this. Countries like Qatar where “homosexuality” is a crime, need to be called out for being the homophobic #$itholes they really are. I think if the rest of the world did this things might change a little faster. There’s no reason why any gay person should feel this way.

“I read something along the lines of that [they] give the death penalty for gay people in Qatar, so it’s something I’m very scared [of] and wouldn’t really want to go to Qatar for that,” he told the Guardian’s Today in Focus podcast.

Here’s more. I don’t blame him. I’ve read the same things about these countries. It’s usually in the middle east or Africa. But it’s always the same old homophobic message.

Here’s more about what life is like for gay people in Qatar. It all sounds based on the Muslim religion and Sharia Law. Disgusting, and horrible country and culture.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Qatar face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Male homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, with a punishment of up to three years in prison and a fine, and the possibility of death penalty for Muslims under sharia law; however, there are no known cases that the death penalty was enforced for homosexuality.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
