Gay People Who Come Out Later In Life

If you think all gay people come out in their 20s and 30s, then you probably don’t see anything wrong with straight actors playing gayface in gay for pay movies. In other words, you know nothing about gay people.

With that said, here’s a piece that discusses a few of the obstacles that gay people who come out later in life face. This one is about a couple who married years ago…man and woman…and remained married and in the closet the entire time. They did what they thought they had to do, and they did it well.

I think we can all agree with him here…

“Society is still inhospitable. That’s not to deny so many amazing shifts in public attitudes, in laws, in policies, but it did not wash away a hundred years of homophobia in society,” said Ilan Meyer, a distinguished senior scholar of public policy with the Williams Institute.

Here’s more.  I know for a fact there are a lot more couples like them out there. Some may never come out of the closet.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
