Gay Woman In Spanish Hospital Is Diagnosed with “Homosexuality”

It’s hard to believe this sort of thing is still happening, but here’s proof that some things still need to change.

It’s about a young gay woman in Spain who went to a gynecologist and they asked her about her sexuality. She figured it was okay to say she was gay, at least until she found out they actually diagnosed her as “homosexual.”

On Monday the woman went to an appointment at the Reina Sofía hospital in the city of Murcia. After being examined she was given a piece of paper that included the line: “Current illness: homosexual.”

Here’s the link.  The woman’s mom is supporting her and they filed a complaint. Apparently, the hospital will be apologizing to the woman.

It’s still a shabby thing for any medical professional to do. And frankly, it’s why both my doctors here in Palm Springs are gay.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
