Only Fans will not ban sexually explicit content after all, Ryan Murphy's American Horror in Provincetown, MA, Ryan Field books

Only Fans will not ban sexually explicit content after all

First, I was actually a little shocked when I first heard that Only Fans would be banning sexually explicit content. I thought that was all they did. I truly did not know they did other content besides sex. The only thing I ever see about Only Fans is in my Twitter feed and it’s always sexually explicit gay content.

With that said, not long after they announced they would ban sexually explicit content, they received tons of backlash. I think I even Tweeted something and I’m not even invested in this. I just hate that kind of censorship. But more important, a lot of people depended on the income from Only Fans.

The reversal came after a groundswell of opposition to the proposed ban surfaced from its performers and customers, many of whom are members of the LGBTQ community who, like their straight counterparts, used the site to generate income over the past year and a half during the COVID pandemic.

Here’s more. They go into a lot more detail and they mention the Free Speech Coalition. Very interesting article.

Ryan Murphy’s American Horror in Provincetown, MA

Thanks to COVID, production for American Horror Story delayed the most recent season. But last night the season dropped on the FX channel with a double feature. I liked the double feature idea. It reminded me of the 80s when we all couldn’t wait to see Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  In this day and age of streaming everything, and having everything at our fingertips at all times, the double feature was a nice touch for the sake of nostalgia. There are a lot of commercials, though, and I’m also glad we don’t have to watch all TV this way all the time. I’ll probably DVR the rest of the season and FF the commercials.

However, this season of AHS is set in Provincetown, MA. The town is a very old artist colony at the tip of Cape Cod that’s also a well-known gay mecca. I could live there year-round. For years, Tony and I went there for Labor Day and the whole week after, we went for New Year’s Eve week, and we went for Halloween. It was only a 7-hour drive from New Hope and we loved it. We love the town itself, we love Cape Cod, and we loved being surrounded by so many other gay people. It couples, it’s singles, it’s all ages. They even have a special week in the summer dedicated to gay bears. It’s kind of like the East Coast version of Palm Springs, CA. Which of course is why Tony and I live in Palm Springs now.

So far, I’m enjoying AHS set in P’town. The storyline is excellent. There’s an artist theme that’s so appropriate for P’town. And I love all the players. Only two shows dropped last night and I’m hooked. I think most people will enjoy this season. No spoilers.
