Calling Out Certain Countries for Homophobia, Ryan Field Books

Calling Out Certain Countries for Homophobia

The actress/entertainer, Lucie Arnaz, recently posted about how thrilled she was to be going to Africa. I didn’t want to take away her joy, but I had to point out that so many countries in Africa are homophobic and very poor on LGBTQ rights. I would have liked to have seen Ms. Arnaz at least complain a little about how LGBTQ people are treated in some parts of Africa. She’s very vocal about politics. But I doubt she even knew. Most people, gay or straight, don’t know.

With that said, there are many parts of the world where being gay is still not safe. The author of this piece is also talking about members of the LGBTQ community rushing to support this anti-gay place. I’ve seen it myself and I have to wonder if these LGBTQ people are just not informed or are they just stupid.

I’m talking about the Palestinian Authority and its counterpart in the Gaza Strip, Hamas. This is about one life and death issue — the deadly treatment by Palestinians of their LGBT community.

Here’s the link. There’s a much longer explanation of LGBTQ rights and the Palestinians. You might learn something important with this one.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
