A Gay Man Might Help Jeopardy Rebound, Ryan Field Books

A Gay Man Might Help Jeopardy Rebound?

When Joan Rivers passed away, Fashion Police just crashed and burned. Kathy Griffin didn’t have the same appeal to viewers, and frankly, no one seems able to fill Joan’s proverbial shoes. And this isn’t the first time something like that happened. Not everyone is replaceable. I couldn’t imagine watching I Love Lucy without Lucille Ball. Could you imagine Everyone Loves Raymond without Ray Romano?

With that said, I’m on the fence about Jeopardy. Alex Trebek was that show and I’m not sure that he can be replaced. However, this article I’m linking to right now thinks a gay man could possibly save the show.

Finally, I did watch one show a few years ago. It was when the hilarious gay journalist Louis Virtel, a former Advocate intern (!), made a wildly demonstrative appearance. The guy made headlines for his snaps, slamming the buzzer, and overall vivacious performance and witticisms.

Here’s the rest. Frankly, I think this is a stupid article. And personally, I would like to see Mayim Bialik get the job as the new permanent host. She’s a brilliant woman. And that’s what Jeopardy needs: brilliance. The last thing it needs are “snaps, quips, and witticisms.” Now, if the gay man they might hire didn’t do snaps, quips, and witticisms, I’m all for it. There are millions of gay men out there who are brilliant enough to handle the job, too. But without the “witticisms.”

Side note: I have never used the word “witticism” in my life, and that will probably be the last time I ever use the word “witticism” again in anything I write.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
