Yet Another Horror Story From Homophobic Ghana In Anti-Gay Africa

Countries in Africa like Ghana are probably some of the worst in the entire world with regard to human rights and LGBTQ rights. LGBTQ people in these hideous countries are treated like criminals even though they’ve done nothing wrong. It’s infuriating and it violates all common decency at this point. And as a gay person who cares about what’s happening globally to LGBTQ people, I have no respect for anyone who tries to defend these places.

This. Is. Wrong.

For the LGBTQ community in Ghana, the first half of 2021 has been nothing short of devastating. In less than six months, the community has come under intense and repeated attacks from politicians, the police, religious groups, and anti-gay organizations, including a heavily biased media committed to pillorying and misrepresenting an already marginalized group.

Here’s more. The piece goes on to mention other issues for LGBTQ people in Ghana and other parts of Africa. It’s worth the time just to see what’s happening to these poor people. I also think I’ll keep this link as my “go-to” for anyone who thinks Africa is such a wonderful place.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
