Books: “The Wizard of Pride,” an LGBTQ Retelling of “The Wizard of Oz”

A really nice blogger wrote up a blog post for my latest book release, The Wizard of Pride. It was just a nice thing for them to do.

The innovative book publisher, Riverdale Avenue Books has just published The Wizard of Pride, an LGBTQ retelling of the Wizard of Oz from Lambda awarding-winning author, Ryan Field.

Here’s more. Check out the rest. It’s a good website, too. This book is filled with references to gay culture with which all gay men are familiar. It was the kind of gay story I wish I would have had earlier in my life…or at any time. But the gatekeepers who run mainstream straight white publishing never give us that.

And I’ll say this once again. If you don’t like sex scenes you can skip over them and you’ll still have a strong story.

More On the Anti-Gay Murder In Spain

I posted about this yesterday and according to this article, the violent incident with the poor young gay man who was murdered in Spain seems to have hit a nerve with the government of Spain and the rest of the world. As well it should. This was a senseless act of hate and it should not be forgotten.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Monday described Luiz’s murder as a “savage and depraved act.” The hashtag #JusticiaParaSamuel or #JusticeForSamuel has been trending on social media in Spain and around the world.

Here is the rest. The poor kid didn’t have a chance.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
