Gay Couple Wins Case Against Florist

This is about that Washington state flower shop that refused to serve a same-sex couple for so-called religious reasons. “They” always use religious reasons.

But the judgment against Arlene’s Flower shop will continue to remain in place. It’s a bittersweet victory for the gay couple because the damage has been done. Like most gay couples they will always avoid certain things now. Or they’ll live in fear that anything can happen. I know Tony and I have worried about this kind of discrimination when it comes to anything from buying a house to selling a car. The hate for gay runs deep.

“After Curt and I were turned away from our local flower shop, we cancelled the plans for our dream wedding because we were afraid it would happen again. We had a small ceremony at home instead,” said Robert Ingersoll in a statement.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
