Jake Whitehall Plays Gay Face Yet Again In Disney Movie 'Jungle Cruise', Ryan Field Books

Jake Whitehall Plays Gay Face Yet Again In Disney Movie Jungle Cruise

It’s hard to find out if Jake Whitehall is actually gay or not. One source claims he dated a woman from 2011 until 2017, but it’s not totally clear. He’s also been known to play gay face before, with backlash. I’m just linking now. Not offering my opinion. I didn’t see either of these projects.

Jack Whitehall received some backlash for taking on the role of a gay character.

Here’s more for this one.

Aside from all this, Whitehall, who may or may not be gay, is now playing gay face again in Disney’s Jungle Cruise and this time there’s still some controversy with the way the gay character is being portrayed. I hate to speculate but this is what often happens when straight people try to do gay content.

British comedian Jack Whitehall plays Lily’s brother MacGregor Houghton, who is gay, even coming out in a scene with Wolff (though notably without employing the word “gay”).

Here’s this link. The comments about why they don’t use the word gay are interesting. I love the way straight people all refer to being as as just sexuality.

For the record, I’m proud of the word gay! I not only want that label, I OWN that label.

As a side note, they had a problem with another character, too, and this really bothered me.

“We understood that we needed to maintain that whimsy and spirit of the ride with all the nostalgia, but we also need to bring it into this modern era of what’s appropriate,” says Blunt.

WTF is he talking about with this “modern era?” The odds are that if it’s wrong now it was wrong 40 years ago. And the odds are it offended someone 40 years ago. It has nothing to do with a “modern era.”

Yet Another Horror Story From Homophobic Ghana In Anti-Gay Africa,

Yet Another Horror Story From Homophobic Ghana In Anti-Gay Africa

Countries in Africa like Ghana are probably some of the worst in the entire world with regard to human rights and LGBTQ rights. LGBTQ people in these hideous countries are treated like criminals even though they’ve done nothing wrong. It’s infuriating and it violates all common decency at this point. And as a gay person who cares about what’s happening globally to LGBTQ people, I have no respect for anyone who tries to defend these places.

This. Is. Wrong.

For the LGBTQ community in Ghana, the first half of 2021 has been nothing short of devastating. In less than six months, the community has come under intense and repeated attacks from politicians, the police, religious groups, and anti-gay organizations, including a heavily biased media committed to pillorying and misrepresenting an already marginalized group.

Here’s more. The piece goes on to mention other issues for LGBTQ people in Ghana and other parts of Africa. It’s worth the time just to see what’s happening to these poor people. I also think I’ll keep this link as my “go-to” for anyone who thinks Africa is such a wonderful place.

Twitter and TikTok Remove Videos Exposing Gay Olympic Athletes on Dating Apps, Ryan Field Books

Twitter and TikTok Remove Videos Exposing Gay Olympic Athletes on Dating Apps

I know nothing about Grindr or dating apps so this is all new to me. Apparently, there’s an “explore” feature on Grindr where you can see video profiles and these so-called “creators” decided to blast videos of Olympic athletes on social media. But Twitter and TikTok removed all videos for very obvious safety reasons.

The videos risked outing some athletes as gay and posed a potential threat to Olympians from countries where homosexuality is still outlawed.

Here’s more. Grindr made a harsh statement and condemned the creators. Notice how they still use the word, “homosexuality.”

But at least social media is aware of the anti-gay countries in this world. And that this is still happening to gay people in 2021. It could create some serious situations.

The Lesbian Granddaughter of Homophobic Anita Bryant, Ryan Field Books

The Lesbian Granddaughter of Homophobic Anita Bryant

I really don’t know much about Anita Bryant. Other than what I’ve read and what I’ve been told, the most I know about her that seems accurate is that she’s always been anti-gay. I think her biggest claim to fame was that she was once Miss Oklahoma, and later 2nd runner up in the Miss America Pageant.

And now there’s an interesting twist to Bryant’s own personal story. Her granddaughter is gay and she’s getting married and the granddaughter isn’t sure about whether or not she should invite Bryant to the wedding.

It’s truly a rather sad story. I’m sure my grandparents knew about my brother and me being gay, even though those things were never discussed aloud. But they always supported us in quiet ways. And my own mom and dad, as grandparents, offered nothing but love and support to my nephew and niece when they came out as gay. So I feel so sorry for Bryant’s granddaughter.

The granddaughter of “arch” anti-gay activist Anita Bryant is unsure if she should invite her granny to her wedding in which she will marry another woman.

Here’s more. I would hope that if she’s invited Bryant would attend. I hope there’s a follow-up to this.

There’s also a famous video of Bryant at this link where she’s giving a press conference back in the 1970s and right in the middle of her anti-gay speech someone hits her in the face with a pie.

"DaBaby" Homophobic and Anti-Gay with Negative HIV Comments, Olympic TV Ratings are Low but Streaming Is Solid, Ryan Field Books

“DaBaby” Homophobic and Anti-Gay with Negative HIV Comments

There’s a rapper named “DaBaby” who apparently isn’t afraid of showing his anti-gay hate, especially with his comments about people living with HIV.

And he’s scum. Just pure scum.

Performing at Rolling Loud festival in Miami, he invited every audience member to “put your cell phone light up” apart from those who were HIV-positive or were gay men who had sex in car parks.

Here’s the rest. On a lighter note, I guess we all know how seriously we can take someone with the name “DaBaby.”

Olympic TV Ratings Are Low But Streaming Is Solid

I find this interesting because I’ve been saying this for a long time. Younger people are NOT watching TV anymore. I think that’s true for many older people, too, but I see it mostly between the ages of 18 and 40. These people aren’t even bothering to get cable. They stream everything on their phones or devices. Many don’t even own TVs anymore. I know that Tony and I rarely watch TV at all anymore. We stream almost everything.

NBC says average viewership on its website and app surged 76% from PyeongChang and 72% from Rio, a reflection of TV viewers’ rapid migration from antennas and cable boxes to computers and cell phones.

Here’s more.

Are Millennials Dirty Little Things? Ryan Field Books

 Are Millennials Dirty Little Things?

This isn’t about sex or kink or that kind of dirty. This is about whether or not millennials are physically dirty…as in personal hygiene and the way they keep their living spaces. I can tell you now from the first-hand experience because I rented out a small guest apartment to millennials for over 10 years that the millennials I had as tenants were outright slobs. I’m talking dirty to the point where they never once even cleaned the toilet bowl. After a year, when they would move out, I would have to get into the bathroom with gloves and bleach and a mask just to clean the filthy mess they left. I know when they moved into the apartment it was perfectly clean, and I truly do not believe they cleaned once in a year’s time. And I rented to both men and women. Both genders were equally filthy.

Then there was this. Every so often as a landlord I would have to go up to the apartment and fix a sink or whatever. And never once did I go up and find a neat, clean living space. It was always disgusting. The kitchen counters were always filled with filthy dirty dishes, as well as the sink. The ceramic stovetop was crusted with burned-on food. The oven was splattered with grease and burns. (And it was a self-cleaning oven, too.) The microwave was splattered and splashed. And I doubt any of them washed their towels or sheets for weeks at a time.

And I’m clearly not the only one wondering about this. There has actually been research done in the UK.

“Our research shows that young Brits are less likely than their older counterparts to think handwashing is important before or after certain activities, like using the to

Here’s more. If they don’t wash their hands you have to wonder about other parts of their bodies that don’t get washed. I hate to even think about what’s going on in the more private areas. I remember a Twitter trend once where millennials didn’t even bother washing their legs in the shower. Oh, and allegedly many don’t even use soap.

Anti-Gay Rants From Beverly Hills Doctor, Ryan Field Books

Anti-Gay Rants From Beverly Hills Doctor

Here’s a good example of the way homophobia can happen anywhere. The last place you would think you’d find homophobia is a place like Beverly Hills.

I’m not going to print his quotes. They’re really bad.

Dermatologist-to-the-stars Dr. Alex Khadavi was allegedly caught on video going on a violent, homophobic tirade. His gay neighbors have filed for a restraining order against him, saying they’re afraid for their lives.

Here’s the rest. There’s a video, too. There’s something wrong with this guy. People are fearing for their lives now.

As a side note, in case any of you ever wondered, this is hate speech.

John Barrowman Slams A Movie He Saw Recently, Demands a Refund, and He Outrages His Twitter Followers; Anti-Gay Karen Shouts Anti-Gay Slurs While Being Kicked Off a Plane For No Mask, Ryan Field Books

John Barrowman Slams A Movie He Saw Recently, Demands a Refund, and He Outrages His Twitter Followers

This just happened. John Barrowman, whom I posted about last week with regard to alleged sexual harassment, recently posted a video on Twitter where he’s slamming a new movie by M. Night Shyamalan and it backfired big time. I don’t think Barrowman or his husband saw this coming.

Barrowman, and his husband Scott Gill, posted a video to Twitter where they slam Shyamalan’s film in such a nasty, vituperative way people on Twitter were appalled. I saw the video and frankly, it’s not something I would have done.  It’s one thing to write or post a negative review in a smart, thoughtful way. But this is different. I just usually leave reviews on IMDb. And I’ve never asked for a refund.

Filming from his home, John ranted: “We just came back from the movies, we saw Old, and it was utter s***e, utter s***e.

“So bad I got up and asked for our money back, and what did I get? I got the money back.

Here’s more.  His Twitter followers were outraged by the way he did this and they let him know. You can read the Tweets at this link, plus you can see the actual video of Barrowman’s rant.

Anti-Gay Karen Shouts Anti-Gay Slurs While Being Kicked Off a Plane For No Mask

Some woman went berserk in Dallas recently and she started spewing out all kinds of anti-gay sentiments. No one is totally sure yet what sparked her outrage.

As she was being escorted off a plane she said this:

“You think I talk to my kids about same-sex marriage,” the woman said toward the end of the video as she began walking back up the aisle. “No, we don’t talk about that. But if we all want to talk about it, let’s talk about it.”

Here’s more.

They Are STILL Arresting Gay Men In Maryland For "Perverted Sexual Practice," A Racist Tirade Against Gay Couple In San Francisco, Ryan Field Books

They Are Still Arresting Gay Men In Maryland For “Perverted Sexual Practice”

Apparently, the police are still targeting adult book stores in Maryland and they are still arresting gay men with the homophobic charge of “perverted sexual practice.” It’s just another name for anti-sodomy law.

9 men were arrested.

“They spent the night in jail and were badly treated,” the friend said. One of those arrested told the newspaper that all nine men spent the night in jail.

Here’s more. They mention a few more details.

A Racist Tirade Against Gay Couple In San Francisco

Here’s a link to a story about a man who went berserk on a gay couple in San Francisco. The gay couple was simply walking down the street while this idiot screamed racist slurs at them. He really does just get right up in their faces.

“I served this goddamned country. So I’m m not racist. I don’t like you f— Asian motherf— in my country!” the man yelled at the couple.

Here’s the link to this one. The whole thing was captured on video and you can watch it at this link.

13 Reasons Why Star Tommy Dorfman Comes Out As Transgender

When I saw this trending today it made me smile. And then I clicked on a link and saw the photos of Tommy Dorfman who now identifies as a woman and I was blown away. She’s gorgeous, and the photos are excellent.

“I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically,” she continued. “Coming out is always viewed as this grand reveal, but I was never not out. Today is about clarity: I am a trans woman. My pronouns are she/her. My name is Tommy.”

Here’s more. You’ll see what I mean about the excellent photos. I love the way she’s not changing her name and she’s going to continue using “Tommy.” Now, let’s see how many roles she gets in Hollywood. There is no reason why she can’t go up against any other female actress in Hollywood.

We still have no clue as to how many closeted LGBTQ people there are in this world.
