Gay and Lesbian Russians Are Tired of Hiding
Here’s something from the global front that’s allegedly happening in Russia now with LGBTQ people. Like many LGBTQ people around the world, those in Russia have had a difficult time with hate and discrimination. And it sounds as though they are sick of the oppression.
“We’re not hiding,” Androshina said. “We’re openly speaking about who we are now.”
Here’s more. They’re tired of being targeted and abused, too. I’ve been following what’s been happening there for a long time now and I don’t know how they do it. But then again, that’s why we had the Stonewall riots in this country over 50 years ago.
Homophobic Comments Trigger Stress and Health Problems
This is one of those articles that seems to be telling us that water is wet. Who wouldn’t get stressed out being called names and horrible things by other people? It just stands to reason that this study would prove that it can also cause physical health issues.
A study published today finds that when lesbian, gay and bisexual adults are exposed to even mild anti-gay prejudice, it triggers bodily changes such as increases in blood pressure that can contribute to heart disease.
