First Openly Gay Republican Lawmaker In West Virginia

About 10 years ago, I predicted things like this would eventually start to happen. I knew we would be hearing from a lot more gay Republicans. The media and our government has been swaying our opinions and our beliefs for many years. We are taught to believe gay people are always Democrats. But that just doesn’t make sense. And we are now discovering that there are some gay people who have been locked in double closets because they’re gay and Republican.

We have been heading toward this for a long time.

“Hi, I’m Joshua Higginbotham and I’m gay.”

And with that, the self-described conservative, Christian delegate from Putnam County became the first openly gay Republican legislator in West Virginia. Support from progressive Democrats was swift.

Here’s more. So far he seems to be getting support from Democrats and Republicans. I predict more of this in the future and it’s going to be very surprising for some of us.

With all this said, historically speaking, Republicans have usually been more anti-gay than Democrats.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
