Dozens of German Catholic Priests Will Ignore The Pope and Bless Gay Couples Live and Online
You don’t see things like this happening all the time. In fact, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Now, dozens of priests in Germany have vowed to defy the Vatican. “In view of the refusal of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to bless homosexual partnerships, we raise our voices and say: We will continue to accompany people who enter into a binding partnership in the future and bless their relationship,” the group said in a statement.
Here’s the rest. This Pope in particular has disappointed a lot of people so far. He has this pattern of saying something supportive about gay people, and then he’ll turn around and blast us with something negative. I honestly don’t trust a thing about him and he doesn’t affect me, but I’ve seen friends of mine get really depressed over him. I think in a general sense Catholics are fed up with the homophobia that’s always come from within the church. I wouldn’t be shocked if this action taken by these German priests doesn’t spark even more future defiance against the Pope. We’re done.
