Historical Julius’s Gay Bar May Shutter Because of COVID

Here’s a story about another gay bar that could potentially be a casualty of COVID.  I know that most gay venues…including bars and restaurants…have been closing over the last decade for fairly solid reasons. There doesn’t seem to be a need for them anymore. I’m not getting into that now. But people don’t realize that there are still gay bars that have been hanging on in certain places, and now thanks to COVID they may have to shut down, too.

Now its owner is determined to make sure that legacy — and the bar itself— isn’t a casualty of the pandemic, which has devastated New York City nightlife.

Here’s more. I hope he figures out a way to stay in business. I know we’ll never have as many gay bars as we did at one time, but I do believe there’s still room for a few. Especially in places like New York City.

Once Upon a Castle by Ryan Field

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

“Best Gay Novel In Years. This story will stay with you and you will feel you know every character and the beauty of their home in the mountains of North Carolina.”
