Are They Straight-Washing Leonardo da Vinci’s life? Ryan Field Books

Are They Straight-Washing Leonardo da Vinci’s life?

Oh, I’ve seen filmmakers and authors do things like this before. They will take a historical figure and straight-wash everything about his/her life, and the straight people won’t even know any better…even those who are allegedly our allies. Every single year without fail I see Walt Whitman’s birthday trending on Twitter and not ONE straight will actually mention that he might have been gay. They won’t even suggest that there’s a possibility. It’s one of the most popular forms of homophobia out there today. So this article about Leonardo doesn’t shock me at all.

In any event, there’s a new Amazon series about da Vinci’s life and it’s already receiving criticism.

A new series focusing on the great artist’s relationship with ‘muse’ Caterina da Cremona rests on virtually no historical evidence

Here’s more.  I honestly don’t know enough about it yet to form any opinions, but I do like Aidan Turner from Poldark who’s going to be starring in it, so I probably will check it out.  I honestly don’t mind if stories are fictionalized or embellished, but let us know. That’s all we ask.

Once Upon a Castle by Ryan Field

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

“Best Gay Novel In Years. This story will stay with you and you will feel you know every character and the beauty of their home in the mountains of North Carolina.”
