Homophobic Hungary Bans Gay Adoption by Redefining “Family”
On the global front, Hungary just amended its constitution by redefining “family,” which can now also effectively ban gay adoption. Of course, this was no accident by conservatives.
The new Hungarian constitution defines family as “based on marriage and the parent-child relation. The mother is a woman, the father a man.”
Here’s more. One LGBTQ group is calling this a “dark day for human rights.” Unfortunately, it sounds a lot like what happened here in the US with DOMA in the 1990s. They go into a lot more detail in the article.
I just find it dismal that we are still facing these challenges right now in so many other parts of the world.
