First Openly Gay Woman as Acting Mayor of Anchorage
This is happening more and more lately. In spite of so much homophobia out there, both passive-aggressive from liberal allies and aggressive from conservative enemies, LGBTQ people are still moving forward in their own quiet ways and breaking down the stereotypes. And things like this are now becoming commonplace.
Quinn-Davidson, 40, is an attorney who was first elected to the Assembly in 2018. She will be the first woman and openly gay person to serve as mayor or acting mayor of Anchorage, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
Here’s more. I just wish straight people would pay more attention to these things. Right now there’s a controversy going on over a song that straight people are claiming is a “gay song.” And they never even stop to think how awful that would sound if they were to do that to any other marginalized group. So why should we be singled out with a “gay song?”
In any event, this story makes me proud.
