Homophobia and Transphobia on TikTok

This is about people calling out homophobia and transphobia on TikTok, and I have seen some of it myself.

Some of his videos, however, feature reactions to LGBTQ creators. He has a shocked expression when men put on skirts, when a man sucks on a straw, or when trans people reveal transformations over time.

There’s more here. It’s a lot more complicated. TikTok is one of those social media places that you have to experience first hand to fully understand.

Devon Sawa in the Fanatic

It’s no secret that the Fanatic was not loved by critics or viewers. In fact, this link sums it up fairly well for most of us. And I prefer to link to these things because people tend to trust reviewers who do this kind of thing all the time.

“It’s kind of a tin-eared spoof of fandom — or worse, of the disabled. It’s probably for the best that ‘The Fanatic’ is so terrible. If it were made with any actual care, it’d be offensive instead of just dumb.”

But John Travolta seems to be getting all the flack and that’s just no fair. A film, good or bad, is somewhat of a collaboration and no one person should be blamed for the film being awful.

One such actor is Hunter Dunbar (Devon Sawa), who happens to be appearing at Moose’s favorite poster shop in L.A. Of course, Hunter is a total prick, someone who first blows off Moose and then quickly gets violent when the big guy shows up outside his house with a fan letter.

You can read the entire review, here. It’s pretty accurate from what I remember about the Fanatic.

Amazon

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
