Family of Gay Officer Who Died of COVID Denied Insurance
I remember posting about this gay cop who caught COVID and he died back in the spring. The virus hit him hard and it hit him fast. It was a very sad story. And it just got even sadder.
The family Shannon Bennett, the gay Broward Sheriff’s deputy who died from COVID-19 in April, has been denied insurance benefits covering his death.
Of course the family is fighting this, and so is the Sheriff’s office. You can read it all, here.
I’ll be looking for follow ups. These insurance companies are disgusting.
Germany’s Compensation Program for Gay Soldiers
Here’s something more uplifting, and it’s on the global front.
Homosexual soldiers who faced discrimination in Germany’s Bundeswehr army could receive financial compensation, according to the draft of a new bill.
Here’s a link to more. They’re also talking about the possibility of revoking judgments in military courts. It’s an interesting piece because it goes into a lot of history you don’t read about often.
