A Hook-Up Turns Into Love; Guy Charged In Virginia Gay Murder Was On Rent.Men; Ryan Field Books

A Hook-Up Turns Into Love

This is actually about a gay movie that looks pretty good.

We caught this sexy Argentine film at Frameline43 last year where took home Best First Feature Award. As the debut feature of director Lucio Castro, End of the Century follows a poet named Ocho, who spots the handsome Javi while traveling on vacation.

There’s a trailer and it seems to have subtitles. I have nothing against subtitles, but I read and edit and write words all day long. The last thing I want to do when watching a film is read more. But I’m sure many of you will love this.

Guy Charged In Virginia Gay Murder Was On Rent.Men

Here’s another rough story from the world of online hook ups.

Joshua M. Hunter, 22, advertised his escort services on Rent.Men. Hunter is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a gay Virginia man.

Here’s the link. There are a lot of interesting little details with this one like the fact that his escort name was Anthony Adams. There’s a photo of him, too. He’s attractive.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

What readers said about “Altered Parts”
“Best Gay Novel In Years. This story will stay with you and you will feel you know every character and the beauty of their home in the mountains of North Carolina.”

While the book is easily readable, it also addresses emotions stereotypes and relationships. I would have preferred it be 3 times as long and tragically most guys don’t find happy endings as depicted.. but in a short book, it provides food for thought, clarity and insight.. far more and better expressed than 99% of gay fiction . I don’t think it could have been done better.
