Christian Author Matthew Paul Turner Comes Out as Gay and Divorces
The other day Tony and I had a meeting with someone who’s openly gay and he kept mentioning his ex-wife and his kids. Of course we didn’t say anything, but later in the car we just looked at each other and wondered. How could this guy not know he was gay? How could he marry a woman and have kids? How could the ex-wife not know he’s gay? And yet these things continue to happen all the time, because if Tony and I didn’t know this guy was openly gay we would have just assumed he was. You just know. I knew I was gay at 3 years old. I can spot other gay people immediately. Apparently, that’s not the case for everyone and I have seen this many times before.
“(A)s someone who spent 30+ years in fundamentalist/evangelical churches, exploring God through conservative theologies, I’ve lived many days overwhelmed by fear, shame, and self-hatred,” Turner wrote in a Facebook post. “But for the first time in my life, despite the sadness and grief I’m feeling right now, I can say with confidence that I’m ready to embrace freedom, hope, and God as a gay man.”

Taunton Couple Attacked After Hanging Gay Pride Flag
It’s a shame to see that these stories are still happening.
Tom says he had just hung up the Pride flag when a man driving by stopped his car, got out and attacked him.
Here’s a link with all the details, plus a good video. They look like the nicest guys, and thankfully a lot of people have come to their defense. And this is near Boston. I know the area because we come close to it on the drive to the Cape and P’town. I never felt unsafe there. Evidently, it can happen anywhere.
