SCOTUS Rules Workers Can’t Be Fired for Being LGBTQ

This was nice to read, especially because it’s been such a dismal Pride month with everything being cancelled thanks to COVID.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that workers cannot be fired for being gay or transgender in a major win for members of the LGBT community.

There’s more here It was a 6-3 vote. Many of us already have protections but this ruling makes it federal.

It’s historic in more ways than one.

Texas Gay Bars Close For COVID Reasons

I’ve been hoping this wouldn’t happen. With the lack of social distancing in recent weeks I have this feeling we’ll all wind up in self-quarantine all over again because some selfish people just couldn’t stay TF home. And that’s the bottom line: they simply could not stay home.

Two popular LGBTQ venues in Houston, Texas, have temporarily shut their doors again after multiple staff tested positive for COVID-19.

You can read more, here. I hope this doesn’t portend more closures in the coming weeks. With all the protests and large gatherings and NO ONE at these events practicing social distancing, we could all be screwed once again. Which is a shame  for all of us who did follow the rules. Now we have to suffer because of selfish, stupid, idiots. I hope that doesn’t happen.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed, and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”

Altered Parts by [Field, Ryan]

While the book is easily readable, it also addresses emotions stereotypes and relationships. I would have preferred it be 3 times as long and tragically most guys don’t find happy endings as depicted.. but in a short book, it provides food for thought, clarity and insight.. far more and better expressed than 99% of gay fiction . I don’t think it could have been done better.
