Celebrate Pride Month On Film
Thanks to the coronavirus we can’t celebrate Pride month this year in person anywhere, but we can celebrate in other ways. It’s just unfortunate that while the rest of the responsible adult citizens in the US are paying attention to the state and national COVID guidelines, and practicing social distancing, there’s another segment of the population ignoring all the most fundamental rules of a pandemic.
Movies are no substitute for a rainbow-drenched parade. But they can be entertaining and evocative — and let’s face it, shorter — ways to experience queer community and commune with the past.

Observing LGBTQ+ Pride Month With Events Canceled Nationwide

I know it’s not the same as celebrating in person, however, I come from the world of digital publishing and we’ve been doing virtual events for years now. And people truly do enjoy them. You might discover you’ll enjoy it more than you thought you would.
Organizations are opting for virtual events or campaigns this year instead: The Trevor Project, for example, launched a #PrideEverywhere campaign, encouraging people to add a #PrideEverywhere filter to photos and share them on social media with stories of what Pride looks like in their world.
