Washington DC’s Last Gay Bathhouse Closes

I recently posted about the possibility of bathhouses making a comeback, but according to this article it doesn’t look all that great anymore.

A bathhouse called The Crew Club in Washington’s Logan Circle is shuttering this Saturday night. It’s been in business for 25 years. The owners spoke openly about why they’re closing.

“We sold the building four years ago at the height of the market and we were trying to work out a lease-back program but it just didn’t seem to be working the way I thought would be a profitable thing to do,” Allen said.

You can check it all out, here.  Obviously the key word here is profitable.

Man Who Faked Being Gay To Get Lesbian’s Trust

This is one of those stories that will make you want to kick something. It’s hard to believe anyone would stoop to something this low and vile.

A 36-year-old Atlanta man was convicted of raping a woman he had met on a commuter train after pretending to be gay to gain her trust, prosecutors said.

You can read it all, here.

What readers said…
“Best Gay Novel In Years. This story will stay with you and you will feel you know every character and the beauty of their home in the mountains of North Carolina.”

What readers said about Kendle’s Fire.

While the book is easily readable, it also addresses emotions stereotypes and relationships. I would have preferred it be 3 times as long and tragically most guys don’t find happy endings as depicted.. but in a short book, it provides food for thought, clarity and insight.. far more and better expressed than 99% of gay fiction . I don’t think it could have been done better.
