From Netflix and Chill To Disney and Thrust
I could be wrong, but I have this feeling lot of people don’t know the true meaning of Netflix and chill. I see them tweeting it all the time on Twitter and they really do think the chill part is about eating snacks, devouring pizza, and watching streaming TV. But chill means a whole lot more. If you don’t know, here’s a link.
This is about Disney and Thrust. It’s been big on Twitter. It’s also a lot more direct than Netflix and Chill.
Sure, it might be a bit more on the nose, but you’ve got the plausibility of an overnight Mandalorian binge-watch working in your favor.
You can read it all, here. It’s also part of pop culture, which is why I link to these things.
Al Sharpton Rejects Pete Buttgieg’s Claim
I’d like to really remain objective with this one because I know a lot of people are very sensitive to this subject. I also like both Pete Buttigieg and Kamala Harris and I think they are the future in the US. This story has been unfolding for a while. Pete Buttigieg made a comment about the fact that he understands discrimination because he’s gay. Here’s the statement.
“While I do not have the experience of ever having been discriminated against because of the color of my skin, I do have the experience of sometimes feeling like a stranger in my own country, turning on the news and seeing my own rights come up for debate, and seeing my rights expanded by a coalition of people like me and people not at all like me,” Buttigieg said during the CNN debate earlier this month.
Apparently, this statement caused trouble for Pete with black voters, which made Kamala Harris come out with her own statement disputing Buttigieg. And now Al Sharpton has weighed in with comments of his own.
“I think Kamala had a point, and I understood what she was saying.” He said he appreciates the effort Buttigieg is making in the black community and admitted that he is “evolving,” but said the South Bend, Indiana, mayor still has a long way to go.
