Another Straight Pride Parade Coming Soon To Texas
When I saw this story about a straight pride parade in real life on Twitter the other day I was a little shocked because I thought this kind of thing was over for a while. But I guess I was wrong. There will be a straight Pride Parade in Texas on November, 16th that’s been organized by the same anti-gay group that did the one in Boston.
Here’s a link to the entire story. As a side note, I’m putting my newest release at the top of this post today because it deals with things like straight pride parades, coming from a place of huge privilege, and homophobia. It’s not a long book. It’s a short story, but I wanted to get some kind of message across to these straight pride parade people. Not that they will ever understand, but I know some people will.
Here’s the blurb, and it’s free on Amazon with KU. I’ll be posting more in the future.
In a futuristic society where gay is the mainstream and straight is the minority, Mark Alberts is uncomfortable about having dinner with a straight couple, Bert and Betty. Even though he’s open to equal rights for all straight people on his planet, and he’s always openly supported legalizing straight marriage, he still has trouble accepting the unnatural fact that men and women have sex.
In addition to all this, there’s an interesting twist coming Mark’s way that night that changes everything in his perfect, privileged gay world forever.
Gay Men Who Don’t Like Anal Sex
I’ve posted about gay men who don’t like anal sex here on the blog, because it’s a real thing for many gay men.
Believe it or not, many gay guys struggle with how to navigate this, feeling like it’s somehow not acceptable in a community that often demands we label ourselves “top,” “bottom,” or “vers.” So let’s explore what if means if you’re a “side”–meaning, you don’t like/partake in anal sex–because it’s way more common among gay men than people think…
Here’s a link. I’ll admit I don’t totally understand it myself, however, I do know a lot of gay men who would understand it. And as the article points out, there’s nothing wrong with you if you are a gay man who isn’t into anal. And for that matter, there’s nothing wrong with you if you really, really like it, too. Everyone has choices.
