New .99 Gay E-book: ‘The Straight Pride Parade’ by Ryan Field

The Straight Pride Parade: This is one night he’ll never forget! by [Field, Ryan ]There’s always so much talk…and so many clickbait headlines…during Pride month about certain people having Straight Pride Parades, I wanted to write something fictional about it. I don’t think it would have warranted a full length novel, so a short story seemed perfect. Of course the entire concept of Straight Pride is ridiculous, because every day is Straight Pride Day. If you have the kind of privilege, and there aren’t countries that will still arrest you for having sex, you don’t need a dedicated day to celebrate your pride. You are born with that. The whole concept of Straight Pride is also a mockery of LGBTQ Pride, which we all know is not an accident.

With all that said, I wanted to twist things around a little in this short story by making LGBTQ people the privileged and straight people the marginalized. I know the concept has been done before, but not like this and I don’t think anyone has ever made references to Straight Pride. It’s only out as an e-book because it’s a short story, not a full length novel. It wouldn’t be cost effective to release a short in print.

Here’s the blurb, and here’s the link to Amazon. I am doing the Amazon exclusive this time with this story, so it’s part of KU and it’s free for some people.

In a futuristic society where gay is the mainstream and straight is the minority, Mark Alberts is uncomfortable about having dinner with a straight couple, Bert and Betty. Even though he’s open to equal rights for all straight people on his planet, and he’s always openly supported legalizing straight marriage, he still has trouble accepting the unnatural fact that men and women have sex.
In addition to all this, there’s an interesting twist coming Mark’s way that night that changes everything in his perfect, privileged gay world forever.

Straight Pride Parade In Boston

Here’s an article that was published a few months ago following the controversial Straight Pride Parade event in Boston. Yes, this was real life Straight Pride in the making. Even though it’s stranger than fiction, it’s not fiction. It’s really as sad as it is amusing to read about this mockery months later.

BOSTON — They marched under the motto, “It’s great to be straight.” A man in a shark costume chanted, “Straight lives matter!” Another dressed as Santa Claus held the “straight flag” and welcomed any heckling that came his way.

Here’s a link to the entire piece. There are photos of them, too.
