New Study: Tanning Salons Are Targeting Gay Men

I don’t buy into this theory for one single minute. I know tons of gay men who have never been to a tanning salon. So this study does nothing for me whatsoever. It sounds to me like yet another attempt to sway public opinion about gay people and indoor tanning.

Each year, indoor tanning is thought to cause over 460,000 cases of skin cancers in the general population. Compared with heterosexual men, gay and bisexual men are believed to be twice as likely to have skin cancer, and six times more likely to use a tanning bed over the course of their lives.

Here’s the link. The truth is, and they never state this in these articles, is that anyone can get skin cancer…even if they have never used indoor tanning beds.

Trump Nominees and Supreme Court on LGBTQ Protections

Here’s a link to a story that’s happening right now with regard to LGBTQ protections for workers. It’s not simple by any means and I’m not commenting on it.

The Supreme Court appeared divided Tuesday about whether federal discrimination laws protect gay and transgender workers, and President Trump’s appointments to the court could play the pivotal roles in deciding the outcome.

Here’s more. It’s a good article and it gives a good, detailed explanation about why all this is happening now. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. It’s history in the making.
