Gay Dads Leave Russia Fearing Kids Will Be Taken Away

Here’s another disturbing story on the global front. It’s also a good example of why we need gay news media, because no mainstream media outlets will bother to share this story with anyone.

In any event, this is what’s happening to a couple of gay dads in Russia.

Andrei Vaganov and Evgeny Erofeyev were forced to flee Russia after the government began investigating their family when it discovered that their two sons did not have a mother.

Here’s a link to the rest. They are seeking asylum in the US.

The Brave Person Who Promoted Same Sex Marriage In 1953

It was a different world back in 1953. I read a lot of biographies and even the most liberal Democrats back then didn’t understand anything about same sex marriage or same sex couples. Nothing happened for gay people until the late 1960s, after Stonewall. So I find these history pieces highly informative.

In honor of LGBTQ History Month, we’re looking back at the first gay publication in America—ONE magazine. Launched in Los Angeles in 1953, ONE was published by One, Inc., which grew from The Mattachine Society, the seminal gay-rights group founded by Harry Hay.

I know I’ve posted about the Mattachine Society before. It’s a very interesting read, with a photo of the magazine cover.  Here’s the link

And here’s another link to a post I did about the Pink Scare of the 1950s.
