Kevin Hart and the Homophobia Lil Nas X Faced

This is something that I see happen all the time. Non-gay people who simply do not understand what it’s like to be gay and to face homophobia…not to mention all the other issues gay people face growing up.

“It’s not like it was being forced,” Lil Was X replies. “It’s just like knowing growing up, like, I’m growing up to hate this shit. I’m not supposed to ever like this—”
Hart cuts Lil Nas X off, asking, “Hate what? Hate what?”

Here’s the link. It’s a classic example of how some straight people…not all…just do not get it. You have to actually watch the video clip to grasp the full concept.

And thank you to the straight people who do understand. That’s means a lot.

Do Reusable Bags Make You Look Gay

This has been trending lately and I think we all know there’s truth to it. Right now, as I write this post, I would bet there is a gay kid in high school who is being bullied for carrying his books or his backpack the ‘wrong’ way. I’ve seen it all.

In a recent monologue, television host Stephen Colbert mocked heterosexual men and said a new study found some of them avoid environmentally friendly activities, like recycling, to avoid being perceived as gay.

I think the biggest problem here is that some (not all) non-gay people still associate being gay with shame and disgrace. “Looking Gay” is still considered a pejorative. And that’s the biggest part of this entire issue. That should not happen anymore.

Here’s the link. We should be working to remove the shame from gay.
