Antonio Banderas Uses ‘Drag Queen’ Story To Promote New Movie Where He Plays Gayface
This one dates back to 1976. Antonio Banderas had a mishap on his bike, and someone came to his rescue. It’s such a warm and endearing story I feel fuzzy all over. Not.
But, of course, there’s a catch to this one. Banderas is playing gayface in a new movie and he’s using this story to promote the movie.
Banderas said his saviour – described as a ‘drag queen’ in a wig and dress – “came from nowhere, got in the middle of the road and stopped a car to take me to hospital”.
You can read the rest here. I have no comment. They’re just going to keep doing it, and getting away with it. And, they’ll give him an award for playing gay. And openly gay actors who are unemployed will sit there wondering why no one finds anything wrong with this.
You know what I’d like to see? An openly all gay cast playing every single straight role in the Wizard of Oz remake. It’s acting. Why can’t they do that? Don’t hold your breath.
‘The Inheritance’ All-Gay Broadway Play
On a much lighter note, this looks like something I might want to see.
“Brilliantly re-envisioning E. M. Forster’s masterpiece Howards End to 21st-century New York, it follows the interlinking lives of three generations of gay men searching for a community of their own — and a place to call home.”
Here’s a link to more. I think this one sounds wonderful.
