Facebook Urges Gay Men To Give Blood Even Though They Aren’t Allowed
Looks like Facebook is being called out for sending notifications to gay men to give blood, even though there have been restrictions in place for many years that won’t allow gay men to give blood. The restrictions date back to the AIDS era. That’s a totally different post. The point with this one is that Facebook didn’t seem to take into consideration that many gay men aren’t allowed to donate blood.
Yet, Endre has been getting nudges on his Facebook feed to donate blood every few days, despite his efforts to mute them.
Here’s the link. It’s a good article, especially if you’re not familiar with this whole topic. Many people don’t know about it.
New TV Show About A Gay Teen
I don’t know much about this one, so I’m just as interested as anyone in finding out more. There’s a new HBO TV show called Drama Queen that revolves around a NJ gay teen who is obsessed with watching TV.
The story is based on the childhood of entertainment journalist Michael Ausiello, who wrote for TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly before founding the website TVLine in 2011. He’s also executive-producing the show and penning the pilot script himself.
I’ll post more about this when I see it. I like the fact that it was written and created by a gay man.
