Straight Male Author Andre Acimen’s Gay Call Me By Your Name Sequel
The straight male author who wrote gay content in the novel, Call Me By Your Name, which is a story that celebrates and normalizes the sexual relationship between an innocent 17 year old gay boy and a 24 year old straight man, has just announced he’s writing even more gay content with a sequel titled, Find Me.
In March, Aciman confirmed that he was finishing work on a followup to his 2007 novel. Speaking to Vulture, he said, “The film made me realize that I wanted to be back with them and watch them over the years.”
Oh, I’ll bet it did.
Here’s the link to more. Clearly, in this respect, not much has changed since the Brokeback Mountain days.
Democratic Rep. Brian Sims Berates Senior Woman
There’s a video floating around the Internet that shows openly gay Pennsylvania lawmaker, Brian Sims, going after a female senior citizen in a very aggressive way. The woman just stands there quietly without responding. I watched it on Twitter. It’s far from the kind of behavior you would expect from a professional.
Sims calls the woman “an old white lady” and screams in her face with a shrill tone.
“Shame on you. What you’re doing here is disgusting. This is wrong. You have no business being out here,” he told the unidentified woman.
You can check it out, here. I’ve never seen an elected official behave quite this poorly.
Pre-Met Gala Party At Stonewall
I have to admit that I’m a huge, massive fan of the Met Gala, and this year there was a pre-party at the famous Stonewall in the Village. I was following the tweets last night and it looked amazing this year.
This year’s theme is ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ a nod to the queer history of design. Notable LGBTI celebrities will be in attendance including, RuPaul, Indya Moore and Lena Waithe.
I love the fact that this event plays such a huge role in gay culture today, and also incorporates gay history to a certain extent.
Here’s more. There are some excellent photos.
