RIP Lee Radziwill Pop Culture Icon
When I posted about the documentary, That Summer, and Lee Radziwill, last week I had no idea I’d be writing this post today.
Caroline Lee Radziwill, a renowned public relations executive, classic American style icon, former princess of sorts, and the younger sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, died in New York City on Friday, reports. Radziwill was 85-years-old.
The article goes on to mention the many facets of Lee Radziwill’s life, including touring with the Rolling Stones, along with Truman Capote. She was a woman of many highly creative talents who always seemed to have the ability to move forward. And in spite of the fact that her sister was one of the most famous people in the world, Radziwill managed to carve out her own individual identity that was totally separate from her sister’s.
Here’s the link.
Here’s another link. If you do a search you’ll obviously find so much more.
And this link will lead you to a long piece about Radziwill and her sister, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Gay Students Received Unnecessary Rectal Exams
This is awful. A doctor at the University of Southern California was allegedly giving unnecessary detailed rectal exams to young gay men. And that’s not the only allegation.
One plaintiff claims Kelly asked him if he ever used sex toys. Another says Kelly refused to give him a robe to wear during a physical exam, saying it was “just us” and that he was “going to see it anyway.”
Here’s the entire story. The doctor has responded to the allegations.
Drag Queen Story Hour
The concept of drag queens reading to kids seems to be taking off everywhere. Frankly, it’s not something I ever thought I would see happen, and I’ve known a few serious drag queens in my time. But the kids seem to love it.
At one ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ in San Francisco, around 500 people showed up to listen to Bella Aldama read stories to kids. Of course the anti-gay protesters showed up, too.
‘There is nothing wrong with reading a children’s book that display diversity and different gender identities,’ Aldama told East County Today at the event.
You can check it out, here. There’s a photo of how packed the room is. I think it’s wonderful.
