Only Half US Cancer Doctors Understand LGBT Needs
This one is interesting to me because I have a gay nephew who is a doctor. I never asked him about this, but now I will next time I see him.
There’s a new report out that shows half of US cancer doctors aren’t prepared to deal with the specific needs of LGBT patients.
I fully believe this to be true, and with all doctors, not just cancer doctors. We actually go to a wonderful doctor in Philadelphia who is straight, but who does understand. He “gets” it. However, he’s the rarity.
You can read the rest, here. I have no doubt there will be straight people who read this, and they will not understand.
Mary Oliver Lesbian Pulitzer Winner Dies
I don’t know much about Mary Oliver, but I’m sure many other people do know.
Lesbian Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver has passed away from lymphoma at the age of 83.
Here’s a link. It states that she was in a 40 year relationship with photographer Mary Malone Cook.
Trans People and the 10 Year Viral Challenge
In case you haven’t been following, there’s been a 10 year challenge going on all over social media where people compare photos of themselves from 10 years ago to today. And trans people seem to be winning this one.
Not all trans people felt comfortable doing this, which I totally understand, but those who did blew everyone away with their amazing transitions. It’s wonderful to see.
You can check this out, here. Even Caitlyn Jenner did it.
