Gus Kenworthy and Paris Is Burning Tweet

Kenworthy tweeted something funny this week and I actually saw it in my Twitter feed. I left my own reply, and I wound up getting a lot more hearts than I would have guessed I’d get. Frankly, I didn’t even think the story would warrant a headline. But it doesn’t take much to get Twitter excited, and it seems to have resonated with people.

Out Olympian Gus Kenworthy joked about it on his feed, writing, “Accidentally mentioning Paris Is Burning is the closest that Trump has ever gotten to supporting LGBTQ people…”

You can read the rest, here. They go into a much longer story about the significance of the phrase “Paris Is Burning.” If you don’t know anything about it, you’ll find it interesting.

Catholic Schools In Ireland and LGBT Sex Ed Topics

This may be happening soon in Catholic schools in Ireland.

Per the report, sex ed programs going forward should be ‘fully inclusive of LGBT relationships and experiences, including sexual orientation, gender identity and the spectrums thereof’.
For primary schools, the report recommends the new curriculum be taught in an ‘age and developmentally appropriate manner’.
Here’s more.  And for those of you who don’t think it’s fair to straight kids, or you’re worried it might influence them and turn them gay. Look at it this way, we (gay people) had to sit through all your heteronormative sex ed classes all through high school. It didn’t hurt us, and most certainly it didn’t turn us straight.

Trans Student Is Allegedly Bullied and Traumatized
I saw this in several news outlets earlier today.
transgender student from a West Virginia high school is making headlines after accusing a school official bullied him in a school bathroom.
