The Straight Actors Playing Gay Roles Debate Continues

As I’ve been predicting,  this debate is not going to disappear any time soon.

So without getting into my own long rant, I totally disagree with this guy, simply based on the fact that it’s not fair or balanced for LGBTQ people in Hollywood…or anywhere.

“At first I was a bit disappointed. I thought, ‘Why are they casting a straight character in a gay role?’ But then I had to look at myself. I’m a gay man playing heterosexual [characters]. I thought, ‘Hang on, I can’t really join in this debate.’

RuPaul’s Drag Race At Emmys

I didn’t watch the Emmys this year, but I do find this interesting. And that’s because even though I’m openly gay I don’t know much about drag culture or RuPaul. 

If there was any confusion about RuPaul‘s Drag Race hitting the mainstream (there wasn’t), it was squarely put to rest Monday night at the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, where the show picked up an unprecedented five wins.

Security Breach At Grindr

Here’s another Grindr story. 

Grindr’s security issues are once again in the spotlight as a third party app pinpointed users’ exact location.
Despite constant reassurances from the app about the difficulties of exploiting their location technology, the latest security breach revealed how malicious parties can locate users.
