John Barrowman’s Gender Bending July 4th

I love posting things like this…anything that challenges gender stereotypes. John Barrowman celebrated July 4th in high heels and corsets. And from the way it looks, he had a damn good time doing it, too.

People all across the United States celebrated the holiday 4th of July yesterday. This included Scottish-American actor John Barrowman who had a grand old time at his Palm Springs home if his Instagram is anything to go by.

Here’s the link. There are videos. I wish I could share the photo, but I don’t have permission.

Anti-Trans Group Hijacks London Pride

I think the important thing to remember here is that this was NOT planned. No one wanted this to happen. This vituperative group of 10 vicious women hijacked the London pride parade and wound up leading it. Frankly, I don’t know why they weren’t yanked out of the parade by the backs of their necks, but I don’t know all the circumstances involved and there is an updated explanation below.

PinkNews’ Nick Duffy was at the start of the parade and witnessed the group – of about 10 women – take the lead spot of Pride and seemingly be allowed to lead the march, security and police doing nothing to remove them.

It is understood by PinkNews that they were not part of the organised Pride parade and were not permitted to take part in or planned as parade leaders.
And, in an updated version, hot weather is being blamed for allowing them to lead the parade.
Given the hot weather and in the interest of the safety for everyone attending today’s event, the parade group was allowed to move ahead.
Trixie Mattel’s Slave Humor
A drag queen named Trixie Mattel has been making headlines for sensationalizing and exploiting “slave” humor. Here’s a piece written by someone who finds it just as offensive as I do.
It’s not about whether Trixie’s dig was racist. I’m so tired of arguing about what is and isn’t racist. Let’s focus instead on whether it’s offensive. That’s something we each get to decide for ourselves. If you’re OK with Trixie’s slave joke, fine. But the rest of us get to feel how we feel about it.
Here’s more. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks these jokes are without humor or substance.
A Flag That Represents Pedophiles
This is one of the most disturbing things I’ve seen so far this week. I hate to even link to it, but people should be made aware of it.
Groups of pedophiles are attempting to be part of the LGBTI community.

A group known as MAPs (or Minor Attracted Persons, not to be confused with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) has been circulating its own version of the Pride flag.

West 40s: Gay Sex In Middle Age

This looks interesting.

Get ready, folks, because the hotly anticipated new web series West 40s is finally making its debut later this summer.
The series follows five gay men in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen gayborhood on their various quests for sex, love, and companionship while at the same time navigating what it means to be gay in their 40s.
Here’s more, with a trailer. This one was funded through Kickstarter. I have to send a link to my friend Harvey who lives in Hell’s Kitchen.
Brendon Urie Is Bisexual
Here’s another coming out story that’s not quite so shocking.
Panic! at the Disco singer Brendon Urie has come out as pansexual.
The emo-rock singer, who earlier this month donated $1 million to help LGBT kids in US schools, said it was “just people that I am attracted to.”

Bear Week In Provincetown
I’ve never actually been to Bear week in P’town, but I hear it’s a lot of fun.
Provincetown might have held its very first Pride last June, but the popular location in Massachusetts isn’t new to the LGBTI community.
An all-time LGBTI favorite, the very tip of Cape Cod is famous worldwide for its Bear Week. Back for nine days of pool parties and other fun activities in the sun, the annual celebration of bears starts Friday 6 July.
You can read the rest here.  Tony and I used to go to P’town in the summer, during Halloween, and for New Year’s Eve. It’s a lot of fun and sometimes I miss it. But now that we go to Palm Springs there’s not much time left for P’town. If you’ve never been there you’ll love it.
