British LGBT Award Winners and Justin Trudeau

As far as I know, Justin Trudeau is the only high profile leader in any country who ever apologized to LGBT people for how they’ve been treated in the past. Most high profile leaders claim they have evolved, but no one ever apologized for anything that’s been done to us. I found that apology not only gracious of Trudeau, but genuine as well. After all, we’ve been beaten, we’ve been mocked. We’ve been locked up as insane and put on trial as criminals. We’ve suffered abuse, they’ve mocked us, and they’ve even tried to change us with reparation therapy. They’ve appropriated us at times, they’ve treated us as if we’re pet poodles, and stolen our culture for movies and books. In some cases they’ve even raped us and shamed us. And that’s just to name a few things. I hate to sound pushy, but I think an apology of some sort is the least they can do.

Among the winners were Playboy, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Laverne Cox.
Trudeau won for Media Moment when he apologized to his country’s LGBTQ2 community for ‘unjust treatment’.

There are other winners and you can read about them, here. I just singled out Trudeau because his apology is so highly significant and unique.

Lesbian Moms and Their Six Kids Is Likely Suicide
Here’s a sad follow up to a story I posted about last month where two lesbian moms and their kids died in an auto accident in California.
Police in Mendocino County now say that two lesbian mothers from Washington state appear to have intentionally driven their SUV off a cliff, killing themselves and their six children, ages 12 to 19.
Here’s more.  If you do a search there’s a lot more out there on this one.
Young Gay Priests In Training Banished to Ireland

I’m surprised to see this making news. Usually it’s unspoken…or covered up by the Church.
Two seminarians from the Irish College in Rome were sent home this week after the rector discovered them naked in bed together.
Both men had reportedly gotten wasted at an event marking the 50th anniversary of Pope Paul V1’s 1968 encyclical Humanae Vitae. When they got back to their dorm that evening, they started going at it.
Here’s the rest. There are comments.
