Love, Simon Box Office Smash; Gay Men Slut Shaming Each Other; Brandon Myers’s Gay Adult Film

Love, Simon Box Office Smash

Obviously the film critic over at Time Magazine got this one wrong with his way off base review. As it happens, Love, Simon opened with some highly impressive numbers.

Love, Simon was, in many ways, a calculated risk for its studio, 20th Century Fox. There had never been a wide, major-studio release of a film centered on a gay teenager. It’s worth also noting that teen movies have suffered recently because it’s hard to get adolescent viewers to go to the theater, period (what with the rise of online platforms like YouTube churning out youth-focused content). But Love, Simon was made for only $17 million and opened to a solid $11.5 million; with its Cinemascore, it should have a long box-office life that’ll earn its budget back and more.

Here’s the rest. Now I’m dying to see it. And best of all, it’s not Call Me By Your Name, with a barely legal 17 year old boy having sex with an older man.

Gay Men Slut Shaming Each Other

For as long as I can remember this has been happening, but it wasn’t always considered wrong. Mostly I remember it being campy or funny and never taken very seriously. In fact, most of the guys I know always bragged about it.
Catering to a guy’s sex drive doesn’t guarantee he won’t turn you loose post-afterglow. According to a 2017 Groupon survey, men are nine times more likely than women to be down with first-date sex, while 70% think you should wait until at least the fourth date. Clearly, the quasi-virginal mate is still an aspirational thing.

Here’s the rest.  I never saw anything wrong with having sex on a first date. In fact, I encourage it. Life’s short and the only regrets you’ll have in life are the missed opportunities. You can quote me on that.

Brandon Myers’s Gay Adult Film

Here’s another one of those stories about a gay adult film surfacing for a cute young guy.

It appears to be the only time Myers has teamed up with another guy for some on camera “bodywork.”

If you follow this link, you can see for yourselves. I saw it…it’s not that big a deal. It’s actually a link to one of those Twitter accounts that post gay porn clips all the time. But it’s not bad either. I think it’s more erotic and sensual than hardcore…the Tweet.
