James Franco Accused of Sexual Abuse; A Gay Prince Opens Doors To Homeless LGBT People; Alan Cumming Plays First Openly Gay Lead Character On TV Drama

James Franco Accused of Sexual Abuse

In all this time I’ve been posting about James Franco this was the last thing I ever thought I’d read.

I’m not going into detail with this, or commenting on Franco.

James Franco is now facing allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse, following his acting win at the 2018 Golden Globes ceremony. The big story at Sunday night’s Golden Globes went beyond any of the films or individuals who won awards; it was the Hollywood community’s reaction to the last several months of revelations in regards to the sexual misconduct of Harvey Weinstein, Louis C.K., Kevin Spacey, and many others. Seth Meyers made several edgy jokesabout the scandals in his opening monologue. Various presenters and winners referenced what has been happening, as did Oprah Winfrey in her well-received speech. Natalie Portman even pointed out, while presenting the Best Director award, that all five of the nominees were male.

You can read more, here.  There are more details.

A Gay Prince Opens Doors To Homeless LGBT People

Here’s something positive for a change. This guy has been making headlines since 2006 when he came out.

India’s Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, the likely heir of the Maharaja of Rajpipla in Gujarat in western India, will personally oversee the project along with his organization The Lakshya Trust. He’ll be constructing new temporary housing on the property to accommodate those seeking refuge.

Here’s the rest.  It’s also an interesting piece about what life is like for gay people in India.

Alan Cumming Plays First Openly Gay Lead Character On TV Drama

Even though I rarely watch network TV anymore, I will have to check this out. They’re referring to this as network TV history because it’s the first time there’s ever been an openly gay male lead character in a drama.

The 52-year-old actor is set to star in the procedural crime drama Instinct as an openly gay former CIA operative who has since built a different life as a gifted professor and writer, but gets pulled back into his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer.

Here’s more. It’s interesting to note that up until recently there hasn’t been much LGBT content on TV at all. I think Cummings is bisexual in RL.
