Trump Fires HIV/AIDS Advisory Council
This is one of those stories where I think you have to read between the lines…or at least read the entire article to make sense out of it.
POTUS fired the remaining people on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA), but this isn’t completely out of the ordinary. President Obama did the same thing.
“Changing the makeup of federal advisory committee members is a common occurrence during administration changes,” Hayes said in the statement. “The Obama administration dismissed the George W. Bush administration appointees to PACHA in order to bring in new voices. All PACHA members are eligible to apply to serve on the new council that will be convened in 2018.”
You can read the rest here. It’s an interesting article and I honestly don’t remember seeing any articles like this in the past.
PACHA, as a group, consists of doctors, people in corporate, community members, and people living with HIV.
Entitled Millennials and Hook Up Culture
This is amusing. This millennial, Topher Gen, is calling out his peers.
The more it is normalized, the more our generation is armed with a sense of entitlement when it comes to other people’s bodies. We don’t hope for sex anymore, we expect it.
Much of what I’ve said will provoke some huffing and eye-rolling, but hook-up culture can blur the line of consent to such a degree that some guys think if a boy comes back to their bed then that constitutes consent to any and all sexual activities. A lot of people feel they are owed sex in this situation, when the reality is you’re not owed anything.
Here’s the rest. The most amusing thing is that Topher thinks all this is so new, which is so typical of a millennial. I hope he reads the comments that people left.
Jaden Smith In High Heels Dazzles Them
I’ll admit that I can’t be objective with this one. I like everything about Jaden Smith. He’s fearless in the sense that he always does what so many people only think about doing. I admire that quality. He’s also so close to being like several of my characters in my books it’s a little uncanny. I never set out to do anything like that on purpose.
Dressed smartly in his futuristic space-vampire regalia, Smith shows off his ass-kicking high heels, and then gives Talley a quick primer on his glimmering gold teeth. (Don’t worry: There are some diamonds in there too.)
