2017: The Sad Ending of “Sense 8”

One of the TV shows I found, and loved, in 2017 was called, Sense 8. And I loved it for many reasons, including the diversity. We don’t get to see TV shows like this often, and I hated to see it get canceled.

But I guess that’s the way it works, because the mainstream dictates what we watch or read. I got into a heated discussion…which I normally don’t do…on Twitter with a young straight woman who loves Will and Grace, but hated Sense 8. This came about after I made a comment saying I was surprised they would bring back the old story line of Will and Grace, and yet cancel a new, interesting, current story line with so much diversity like Sense 8. That still doesn’t make sense to me. And that young straight woman went berserk. I finally had to block her because I got tired of her straight splaining what it’s like to be gay, to me. Because she watched Will and Grace she knew more than I did about being gay. It’s interesting…that mind set.

In any event, this one covers a few things from 2017…

Critics didn’t know what to make of Sense8, the Netflix series she co-created with sister Lily and Oscar-nominated sci-fi writer J. Michael Straczynski. The series itself, about a diverse group of 8 people psychically connected, attracted a strong fanbase. Hungry fans gobbled up the second season in 2017, only to meet with a bit of indigestion: Netflix canceled the series not long after its season 2 debut. A porn site actually offered to fund a third season for Netflix, something the streaming giant declined.

If you haven’t seen Sense 8 yet, it’s an amazing show. You can read more, here

The Benham Brothers Get Action Adventure Movie Deal

I’m going to be as good as I possibly can here and I’m not going to comment. Evidently, there’s a small audience for this kind of thing, too. I’m not judging it, and I mean that sincerely.

When the dollar collapses, widespread rioting and looting ensues, and five children tragically lose their parents in the chaos. Armed with a couple of their father’s weapons, they are able to survive in a stretch of woods on the outskirts of their burning town. Facing starvation and threats from encroaching gangs, they begin to doubt God’s love. Will God answer their prayers, or must their faith remain blind to facts?

You can read about this, here. There’s a trailer. There’s also a long ad before the trailer, but it’s worth the wait just to see the kind of thing this is.

Race Car Driver Lewis Hamilton Shames Nephew’s Pink Dress

This race car driver, Lewis Hamilton, didn’t like the fact that his nephew was wearing a pink dress on Christmas Day. A truly classic dick move from Hamilton.

“Look at my nephew. Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas? Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas? BOYS DON’T WEAR Christmas dresses.”

Here’s the rest. This was a dick move that 5.7 million people saw. What I don’t get is even if you think that why shame the poor kid that way, in public?

The comments are there, too.
