You Tube’s Family Friendly Filter; Colton Haynes As A Dad; America’s First Trans Judge Can’t Get Into India

You Tube’s Family Friendly Filter

A lot of people don’t realize that this kind of thing happens all the time. I’ve seen it happen with web sites where e-books are sold. Anything with LGBT content comes with a warning. It doesn’t have to be erotic or adult material…as we know adult material to be. All it has to be is LGBT content…the most basic G rated LGBT content…and it’s considered adult content in the mainstream.

With that said, You Tube has a family friendly filter that blocks LGBT content.

Restricted Mode, aiming to filter out ‘more mature content’ and is switched off by default.

However if you turn it on, videos that use community flagging, age-restrictions and ‘other signals’ to identify what is potentially inappropriate content.

Gay YouTube personality Calum McSwiggan turned on the family filter and discovered all of his videos except for one disappeared.

You Tube has offered an apology, but I don’t think it’s very strong. I want more. I think this kind of thing just continues to promote shame.  You can read the rest here.

Colton Haynes As A Dad

I think this is all speculation. Nothing definite has been said.

The newly-engaged actor seems to be dropping some big paternal hints on Instagram in the last 24 hours.

The former Arrow and Teen Wolf cast member has changed his bio to read: ‘Uncle. Soon to be father. Traveler. Actor. Goof.’

There’s more here. Once again I take these things one more step. Just the fact that he’s able to hint that he wants to be a father in public is something I never thought I’d see in my lifetime.

America’s First Trans Judge Can’t Get Into India

This is amazing and painful to read. She’s a judge. A brilliant woman who’s spent most of her life working to make her life better. And she has to deal with this…

India has denied a visa to a transgender judge who was invited to the country to speak about LGBTI issues.

Alameda County Superior Court judge, Victoria Kolakowski was the first transgender person in the United State to become a trial court judge.

She was invited by the US Embassy in New Dehli to speak about LGBT law and policy as part its speaker program.

Here’s the rest. As I’ve said before, LGBT equality is a global issue, not just a domestic one.
